You Better Work Weekend 2025

Wellll helloooo!!! Did you miss us? We missed you, our lovely blogettes! For those of you who are new to our blog, welcome!! We're so happy you're here. During camp session, we'll be popping in to give you a review of each day. But this blog is a little different because it's for our wonderful work weekend! Work Weekend is our time to gather with some Jabberwocky community members to get camp all ready for the season. And ready it we did! We're really proud of all the hard work that happened this weekend, so we'd love to tell and show you what went down if you'll indulge us.
The crew trickled in Friday afternoon with game faces ready and got to work prepping cabins, planning flower beds, cleaning linens and more. We did so much on during the day, so after dinner we decided to have a cozy night by the fire to catch up, reminisce about friends who we're missing, eat our much awaited Back Door Donuts, and snuggle up in our warm cabins.
Then on Saturday we were ready as ever to get going again! And Saturday was an extra special day because it was Molly and Rachel's birthday!! So in their birthday honor, we did yard work, set up hammocks, cleaned out spaces, planted flowers, organized rooms, moved heavy things, cleaned vans, cleared out the trash (thx Morty!) and sooooo much more! We also had the pleasure of a pause for some archery class! Work hard, play hard, as they say. We got to learn quite quickly who should stick to yard work and who among us are truly Robin Hood archers in the making.
Once it was time for dinner, we were quite ready to take a seat and we had gotten SOOO much done! We had a much deserved hearty din, had a birthday celebration for our May 24 babies, and then made our way to Oak Bluffs to continue the party with some Flying Horses and OB treat time. It was the perfect night for it and we loved being out and about to celebrate our hard work and time with friends. When we were feeling ready to hit the hay, we made our way back to camp for tea and sleep.
Today we woke up feeling the Jabberwocky love and got some last bits and pieces done before everyone made their way home.
We want to thank EVERYONE for all their help and energy this weekend. It was special and meaningful in a way that words can't quite express. Whether you were here checking off tasks on the to-do list, feeding us, hosting us in OB, bringing over cupcakes for our birthday queens, waving at us as we drove through town, passing along some flowers, popping in for archery or a hello, it means everything. Seeing this community come together time and time again never ceases to amaze us. You are incredible and we are forever grateful.
Here we come June Fam Camp One! And here's to a magical season ahead.
Love,
Camp
